ATEQ „F” type leak detection instruments measure pressure drop, but in many cases users need to measure leaks in terms of volume flow.

For a given leakage (volumetric flow), the rate of pressure drop depends on the volume of the container or piece. The relation between the triple pressure drop - volume - leakage can be calculated according to the following formula:

f [ccm/min] = 6*10 ad -4 * V [cm³] * dP/dt [Pa/sec

Where „f” is the volumetric flow, in the formula cm³per minute

„V” is the volume of the piece cm³in

„dp/dt” is the pressure drop in Pa/sec.
