Sometimes a leak is considered a „small leak” or a leak is considered a „big leak”. If the allowable or expected rate of leakage exceeds the measuring range of conventional leakmeters, a laminar flowmeter may be required.
The D620 flow meter from ATEQ provides a fast and accurate measurement of the air flow thanks to the newly developed pneumatic and electronic modules.
The most common applications are the measurement and control of flow rates on user-produced parts. Applications may include quality control tasks in the manufacture of automotive products, household appliances (refrigerators, gas appliances), medical instruments, electrical equipment.
Measurement characteristics:
| Measuring range (l/h) | Accuracy | Max. resolution (l/h) |
| 1 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.001 l/h) | 0.0001 |
| 5 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.005 l/h) | 0.0001 |
| 30 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.03 l/h) | 0.001 |
| 80 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.08 l/h) | 0.001 |
| 150 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.15 l/h) | 0.01 |
| 500 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 0.5 l/h) | 0.01 |
| 1500 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 1.5 l/h) | 0.1 |
| 4000 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 4 l/h) | 0.1 |
| 10000 | ± (measured value 2.5%-a + 10 l/h) | 1 |
Key indicators:
Our ATEQ D620 instrument has a laminar flow element connected to our differential pressure sensor.

The air flowing through the capillary creates a pressure difference between the two taps of the capillary, and this pressure difference is measured with high accuracy by the differential pressure sensor.
Direct and indirect measurement mode:
| Direct flow measurement | Indirect flow measurement |

| Direct, or direct measurement, is when the measurement is made before the object to be measured and air is expelled from the component to atmospheric pressure.
The advantage of this method is that it is easy to set up the measurement loop, but you have to wait for the flow condition to stabilise at the beginning of the measurement.
|
Indirect, or indirect measurement, where the airflow (collected) exiting the component being measured is measured. This method is a significant
saves time, as the flow entering the device has already stabilised. In some cases, it may be difficult to „collect” the gas leaving the component, in which case either the direct method is used or a „bell” can be used to introduce the full flow into the machine. |
